The date for the 2009 Liffey Descent has just been announced as September 5th 2009.
Way back in November of 2005 I contacted Iain Mclean asking if he would help me in the task of putting together a history of the Liffey Descent. We exchanged several emails and to my delight attached to one was a brilliant article chronicling Ian and "the Liffey".
To my shame I have not pursued the task with the enthusiasm of Iain. However after re-read Iain's letter I felt I had to share it with you all and hopefully it may encourage some others to get involved.
